First Impressions is the thirty-second episode of Season 1 of Robot and Monster.

Plot[]

Robot bottles Monster's charm to use on himself so he can make a good first impression on the famous inventor, Sir Cranklin.

Characters[]

Trivia[]

  • Toward the end of the episode, while Robot was changing channels, we get a glimpse of various commercials from precedent episodes:
  • This is the second time Punch Morley's short-term memory has been used for an advantage. The first time was in Speeding Ticket.
  • This marks the second time Robot and Monster associate with children. The first time was in in Adventures in Babysitting.
  • When Robot tried his second attempt with the bottled charm, we learn that Punch Morley is perhaps unmarried.
  • This is the second time Loudmouth kicks Robot. The first time was in Biker Girls.
  • This episode demonstrates how easily Monster makes new friends, beyond the ones he already has, and how difficult it is for Robot to make any new friends.
  • Apparently, Monster's personality contributes to his height, as he was briefly small after Robot stored his "essence" in a jar.
    • This marks the second time we see a tiny Monster, as the first time was during a hallucination of Robot's in Letterology.
  • The child Robot tries to greet properly was seen in the later episode Bad News Baconeers.

Quotes[]

Sir Cranklin: The one and only chance to impress me and you waste my time with hello next. (Monster gives Robot a few lessons in how to approach someone)

Monster: Next, give them a firm confident handshake.

Robot: (shakes his hand) Got it! (approaches someone reading a book and extends his claw) Put it there, pal!

(book falls and it is revealed to be Loudmouth)

Loudmouth: I don't have any arms, you insensitive jerk! (kicks him)

Sir Cranklin: Are you mad?! You just destroyed my blimp! you...(tone changes because of Robot's essence) Extremely likable fellow.
